Vitalik: MPC-Based EOA Has Fundamental Flaws, and Smart Contract Wallets Are the Only Option

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, conducted an AMA session on Twitter discussing the advantages and disadvantages of wallet types based on MPC EOA and smart contract wallets. Buterin stated that MPC-based EOA wallets have fundamental flaws as they cannot revoke keys (excluding re-sharing, where old holders can still recover keys), making smart contract wallets the only viable option. When users raised concerns about the drawbacks of smart wallets, Buterin attributed them to the overall high costs on Layer1. He emphasised the need for Layer2 solutions and smart contract wallets to gain more protocol-level support.

BTC’s price is consolidating at higher levels, currently retracing towards $30,000. Looking at the overall trend, the support range for BTC lies between $28,500 and $29,500. The current BTC trend shows oscillation and consolidation around the support of the four-hour MA200. However, the pressure above the MA5 has been gradually decreasing. In the short term, the market appears to be establishing a bottoming pattern.
